Huge success for the symposium!

Thank you very much to all the people who gave a speech, a poster presentation, or attended the “Adapting forests to climate change” symposium that we organized these last two days! The symposium was attended by 150 forest and climate change experts from Europe and elsewhere in the world, these two days were dedicated to sharing knowledge, exchanging experiences and drawing imspiration from each other.

We will very soon publish the oral and poster presentations on the symposium website, as well as the list of people who attended the event.

A very warm thank you to our co-funders who made this event possible: the LIFE Programme, the Occitania Region (who also let us use their amazing Assembly Room as the symposium’s venue), the Hérault and Tarn Departments, and of course the Parc naturel régional du Haut-Languedoc, the Centre National de la Propriété Forestière and Alliance Forêts Bois. We really hope that this event will not be the only one of its kind, and that another structure or project dealing will forest and climate change will be interested in carrying on with the symposium in the years to come. Let’s make it a regular international meeting!

Registration is now closed

Every seat is taken for the symposium so the registration is now closed! Thank you to anyone who registered or talked about this event for you interest in it. Our attendees registered from 45 different countries (17 within EU, 28 outside EU). We will very soon publish the full list of attendees as well as the full list of oral and poster presentations and cannot wait to be in just two weeks to share and exchange ideas about forest adaptation to climate change!

Decisions from the selection committee

Dear forest and climate change stakeholders,

You were so many to answer to our call for abstracts that it took the selection committee a bit longer than expected to thoroughly analyze all of your abstracts but we did manage to reach a decision for everyone. If you applied for a poster and/or an oral presentation, you should have by now received an email with this decision. If it is not the case, please check in your spam folder and, if you still can’t find our message, you can contact us and we will be in touch very soon.

Looking forward seeing you next November in Toulouse!

End of the call for abstracts

The call for abstracts has ended! We received over 100 abstracts from all around Europe, and even quite a few from outside the EU. In the next few days, a selection committee that is made of researchers, forest managers and project holders will chose from these abstracts the talks and posters that will be presented during the symposium.

The LIFE FORECCAsT team wishes to thank you all for your enthusiasm about this symposium. Looking forward seeing you next November in Toulouse!
